Daily care & correct setup

Daily operator checklist

  • Switch off and unplug; remove the bobbin case.
  • Clean lint and thread waste from the rotary hook and feed dog area.
  • Check the rotary hook oil gauge; refill when below the lower line.
  • Inspect the needle for bend, blunt point, blocked eye or damage.
  • Confirm the needle is pushed fully up, with its long groove facing left.
  • Check the upper thread path and bobbin-case tension for smooth pull.
  • Confirm safety covers and finger guard are attached before sewing.
  • Test on scrap material after any tension, pressure or setting change.
Oil: Brother specifies high-speed spindle oil for the rotary hook. The initial fill is about 120 ml; use the gauge lines, not guesswork.
